Jesus in Gethsemane,
praying for another way, but ultimately surrenders to His Father’s will. It is indicative of me (even all of us) where there is a calling on our lives, though we had been buffeted by religious doctrines and the sin that was once in our lives that both produced deadness and paralysis.
Even though I had been in such a situation for quite a while, I ultimately had to lay down my religion for His purposes. I am called to preach, heal the sick, cast out devils, and… pick up deadly serpents… that would be this project.
On the surface, it appears as a dangerous thing, using concepts of the world to preach the Gospel that most others had been schooled into thinking were evil and idolatrous… we need to kill the sin (understand – I am NOT saying Jesus was in sin), not the work itself.
The more we die to self, the more God can use us in every way possible.
Jesus submitted His will as should we.
He is our example.
Not so-and-so behind the pulpit and not anyone else.
